LCC Jin Air to begin operating Boeing 777 in December
Jin Air, the nation’s second-largest low cost carrier (LCC) said yesterday it will operate a 355-seat Boeing 777-200ER from next month, becoming first local LCC to operate a large aircraft.
The budget carrier under Korean Air Lines, the nation’s biggest flag carrier, said its B77-200ER aircraft will first be employed on its Incheon-Guam route starting Dec. 12. The air carrier currently operates a 183-seat B737-800 on the same route, which flies every day at 8:55 a.m. Jin Air said that with the adoption of the new aircraft, it will add flights that fly at night.
Jin Air said that the introduction of the new aircraft will allow the company to take a 60 percent market share on the Incheon-Guam route among Korean airlines.
