ZZAPA
“Time for Love”
Label: Loen Entertainment
Genre: Rap, Hip-hop
Zzapa has not received wide recognition despite the popularity of his first mini-album among hip-hop fans. Yet his new regular album “Time for Love” is sure to captivate listeners with its honest discourse on youth, including past love.
From beginning track “Till the Night is Over” to the last track of his album, Zzapa reminiscences about bygone days through a string of songs with upbeat and vivacious melodies contrasting with forlorn words that bring forth an ambience of ironic sorrow.
The two title songs have entirely different styles. “Time for Love” encourages people who love someone with cheerful tunes whereas “I Knew It” details resentment against a parting lover with soulful lyrics and a catch melody.
Microdot, who made a spectacular 2006 debut as a member of hip-hop duo All Black at the age of 14, is returning to the Korean music scene by being featured on the track “Time for Love II.” He said that Zzappa’s catchy beats drew his attention and spurned his first comeback in almost 10 years.
