T-ara’s Ji-yeon to star in Chinese film
Ji-yeon of girl group T-ara has been selected to take part in the Korean-Chinese co-produced movie “Reunion” (working title), which is expected to be released in October.
The movie is a romantic comedy featuring a love story that unfolds on a cruise ship as it heads from Barcelona to the Indian Ocean.
Actor Lee Dong-gun is currently reviewing whether or not to join the work.
The 21-year-old singer Ji-yeon debuted as a member of T-ara in 2009, which enjoyed a high level of popularity until a story about several members bullying another, Hwayoung, went viral in 2012.
After the girl band was criticized for their behavior, the members, including Ji-yeon, went solo. She released her album “Never Ever” in 2014 and also started acting. She most recently appeared in the MBC drama “Triangle” (2014).
