Fans establish forest for IU

테스트

Fans of IU finished creating a forest in Yeouido for the soloist just in time to celebrate her 22nd birthday, which fell on Saturday.

The forest, which started being planted in January, is one of a string of environment-friendly projects fans of celebrities establish and fund-raise for on behalf of the stars they follow.

The singer’s fans collected 5.16 million won ($4,750) to proceed with the project.

There are currently around 250 trees planted in “IU’s Forest,” which is contributing to refreshing the polluted air in Yeouido, a busy area of Seoul with heavy traffic.

A few of the other celebrities who have had forests established under their names include Se-hun and Tao from the boy group Exo.

In response to the good deed from her fans, IU will be releasing a single she wrote herself.

According to Loen Tree, the singer’s talent agency, IU will release “Heart” (working title), the new single, at midnight on Sunday.

The song was first unveiled on Saturday through the KBS2 drama “The Producers,” in which she acts out the role of a veteran singer.

IU debuted with the single “Lost and Found” in 2008. She has a great following because of her singing abilities as well as for her acting.

The star started engaging as an actress through the KBS2 drama “Dream High” (2011).

A few of her hit songs include “Good Day” and “Boo.”

In addition, the 22-old-singer is renowned for conducting good deeds, such as donating money she has earned from holding concerts and hosting fan meet-up events to support undernourished children and multicultural families.
