Homeplus promotes affordable package to China for travelers

Retail giant Homeplus is promoting a special, affordable travel package to Hainan, China.

The retailer said the travel agency Mode Tour, which operates at Homeplus branches, will sell a trip to the southern Chinese tourist destination for as much as 460,000 won ($413) cheaper than competitors. A three-night, five-day return trip with a flight that departs on a Wednesday costs 399,000 won per person, including fuel surcharges. Those who buy the package will fly to China with Korean Air and will stay at the five-star Eadry Sanya Hainan Resort. Customers can stay at the Mangrove Tree Resort for an extra 100,000 won.

It costs an additional 50,000 won for either hotel option to leave Seoul on a Saturday and stay for four nights and six days. The first trip will start on Wednesday and the last will be available on Aug. 29.

“We came up with the special travel package to Hainan as a similar travel product to Hong Kong and Macao gained wide popularity among our customers,” said Kang Joon-mo, Homeplus’ travel service marketing director.

The Hong Kong and Macao package was an event held in April.
