Tight ship

Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) takes one of its 18,000 TEU (20-foot-equivalent) container vessels for a trial run. The company shipped out the last of its 20 vessels manufactured for AP Moller-Maersk on Tuesday. According to the company, each vessel can carry 360,000 20-foot containers. Daewoo recently strengthened its partnership with Maersk, as the company ordered 11 more 19,630 TEU container vessels from DSME on June 2. Including the contract in June, DSME has won contracts to build a total of 55 vessels worth $9 billion so far. Provided by the company
