KT offers system to block child access to adult porn websites

KT, the nation’s second-largest mobile carrier, has launched a system that blocks children’s access to adult pornographic websites and applications on smartphones. People using the KT service will be free from about 6.5 million pornographic and illegal gambling websites and applications. The company said on Sunday that the service will be free, and customers should apply for the service at local Olleh shops or through Olleh customer service by dialing 100 on smartphones. Once the application is submitted, the company will send a web address via text message that will allow downloading.

The program will also be offered on Olleh Market and Google Play. The service is not available on tablet PCs and iPhones. “We expect this service to protect children from bad applications and websites,” KT said in a statement.
