Exo denies existence of Christmas album

SM Entertainment, the home of popular K-pop act Exo, denied a news report about Exo’s upcoming Christmas album on Friday.

“Exo doesn’t have a specific plan for a Christmas album,” an official from SM told Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.

A local entertainment news agency ran a story early Friday and said the 10-member boy group would release an album around Christmas time. The news agency quoted Joombas Music Group, a music production company, which uploaded a post to its website on Friday. The production company wrote, “Coming this winter Exo, Christmas, Joombas.”

Having debuted in 2012, Exo has been performing for just three years but already has numerous records under its belt.

Exo’s first album “XOXO” reached the one million sales mark in December 2013, becoming the first Korean album to sell so many copies in more than a decade.

The boy group held a concert early this month at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, western Seoul, attracting about 22,000 fans.
