Jung Yong-hwa fills in as reality show host

Jung Yong-hwa, a member of the K-pop boy band CNBlue, filmed an episode of the reality show “Weekly Idol” as a replacement for comedian Jung Hyung-don, who temporarily quit hosting the show in November because of his anxiety disorder.

According to an official working at the broadcasting station, Jung Yong-hwa paired up with singer-rapper Defconn for the show, which focuses on a K-pop act every week.

Since the departure of host Jung Hyung-don, many singers such as Sungkyu of Infinite, Kim Hee-chul of Super Junior and Sunny of Girls’ Generation have been filling in.

Singer Jung Yong-hwa reportedly adjusted his schedule in China to shoot the show.

The 27-year-old recently released a duet song “Hello” with indie musician Sunwoo Junga.

The singer, who debuted in 2009, also received the Main Award and Best Vocal Solo Award from the Golden Disc Awards, the country’s longest-running music awards, last week in Seoul.
