A ferry on Seoul’s Han River sinks near the Yeongdong Bridge on Tuesday afternoon. All 11 people on board, including six passengers and five crewmembers, were rescued within half an hour after a 119 rescue team was dispatched to the scene. Nobody was injured or sent to the hospital. Among the six passengers, three were American and two were Thai. The fire authorities said they received a call at 2:27 p.m. saying that water was coming into the ferry, and discovered during its investigation that it was from the engine room. Eland, which operates the recreational ferry rides, is currently looking into what caused the incident. The ride departed from Jamsil-dong and was scheduled to arrive in Yeouido-dong. [NEWSIS]
