SK C&C partners with IBM on cognitive computing services

SK C&C, an IT service arm of SK Group, has partnered with IBM to cooperate on cognitive computing, the company said on Monday. SK C&C will help provide IBM’s Watson cognitive services in the country by providing a set of localized application interfaces and other related services. Under the agreement, SK C&C will run Watson analytics and IBM Bluemix, a cloud platform from IBM at its Pangyo Cloud Center, to support universities, developers, and local businesses. “The South Korean marketplace is moving quickly to embrace the disruptive opportunities from next generation technology,” said David Kenny, general manager, IBM Watson. He said that the strategic alliance with SK Holdings C&C will deliver cognitive services to more businesses and developers.
