Affiliates introduce their breakthroughs at meeting
Affiliated companies of GS Group gathered at its headquarters, GS Tower, in Gangnam District, southern Seoul for the company’s seventh Value Creation Forum on Wednesday. Major breakthroughs from each of GS affiliates were introduced through the forum. For example, GS Energy collaborated with its subsidiary GS Power to effectively run a combined heat and power plant which collects wasted heat to reproduce energy. It not only cut 30,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually but also proved cost-effective. The company has patented the system.GS Caltex succeeded in alternating Iso-Paraffin, a chemical product used to create plastic, making it possible for the company to save up to 15 billion won ($12.6 million) in imports.
