Millennium Seoul Hilton

June 9-18: Millennium Seoul Hilton’s flagship international buffet and all-day dining restaurant, Cafe 395, is pleased to welcome two guest chefs from Singapore, courtesy of the Orchard Hotel in Singapore.

The chefs will introduce Hokkien-style food to Cafe 395. Hokkien cuisine is one of China’s eight major cuisines. Early Chinese immigrants from Fujian Province moved to Singapore and Malaysia and brought their cooking traditions with them, which merged into Hokkien-style food. Singapore is world-renowned for its vibrant and exciting cuisine, which draws influences from its diverse surrounding countries. Some of the most exciting dishes from the two guest chefs will be Black Pepper Crab, Chilli Crab, Katong Laksa, Bak Kut Teh, Chicken Rice, Deep-Fried Pork Balls, Assorted Satay, and Rojak.

Opening: Marriott International has opened its new business hotel in Seoul. The hotel with 409 rooms will serve not only business travelers but also leisure travelers as it is conveniently located near Namdaemun in central Seoul. The area near the traditional gate, which is Korean National Treasure No. 1, is one of the popular tourist areas.

Rajeeve Menon, the chief operating officer for Marriott International’s Asia Pacific region, said he is delighted to open the new hotel, where the latest technology meets Korea’s traditional jewel. He added that travelers should be able to find comfort in this new hotel as if they are living the everyday lives they enjoy at home.

Fridays: Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel is introducing “Devil’s Chicken” at the outdoor Garden Terrace restaurant, where guests can enjoy crispy chicken with five special dipping sauces and salad bar in a semi-buffet style.

Devil’s Chicken gets more special as it comes with five special sauces which are spicy but work to enhance the flavor of chicken. The five different dipping sauces are Chili Fish Sauce from Thailand, Korean Gochuchang Chili Sauce, Tomato Salsa Sauce, Bhut Jolokia Hot Sauce made from the spiciest chili peppers in India, and Savina Habanero Hot Sauce from Mexico. The all-time favorite crispy fried chicken is served hot with five hot sauces and two sweet sauces, so that guests can choose the type of sauce depending on their mood or preferences. Together with Devil’s Chicken, guests can enjoy unlimited fresh salads, side dishes like fried potatoes, mashed potatoes and assorted sausages, desserts and unlimited beer for an additional cost.

Devil’s Chicken is available every Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the outdoor Garden Terrace, located on the eighth floor of the hotel. The price for a chicken is 20,000 won ($16.80) and the salad bar is 10,000 won per person (including 10 percent VAT).
