Park likely to be cleared on 1st rape charge

DNA found in the underwear of the first woman to accuse singer-actor Park Yoo-chun from male trio JYJ of sexual assault has been confirmed to match that of the celebrity’s, according to the Gangnam Police Precinct on Friday.

However, even though the results prove the two were sexually involved, police also reported they found no evidence that force had been used in those encounters.

“Park’s DNA has been found on the first woman that filed charges against him. However, no evidence suggesting that the sexual encounter was forced has been detected,” a police source said.

Based on the results, the police are seen as highly likely to acquit Park of the first sexual assault charge.

If Park is cleared, his accuser may be vulnerable to blackmail charges. The woman is suspected of demanding a large settlement from Park before dropping the case four days later.

The celebrity was accused of sexual assault by four women last month, including the case involving the DNA test. The remaining charges filed by the three other women will continue, and Park will likely be summoned for additional questioning.
