Jeon Hye-bin, Lee Joon join MBC’s ‘Woman’

Actress Jeon Hye-bin and singer-turned-actor Lee Joon will join the new MBC drama “A Woman Who Carries a Suitcase,” according to the broadcasting company on Thursday.

The upcoming romantic comedy revolves around a successful female lawyer whose career spins off track after she’s sent to prison for violating the Attorneys-at-Law Act. The plot centers on how the woman rebuilds her career and goes on to realize her dreams.

Jeon will play an ambitious attorney who will do anything to further her career, while Lee will play a passionate lawyer who believes the most important thing in life is justice.

“The show will feature romances revolving around the court,” said a source from MBC. “The series will also involve explorations of social issues, which ordinary people will be able to relate to.”

Jeon and Lee will be joined by co-stars including actress Choi Ji-woo and actor Joo Jin-mo.

The show will hit the air in September after “Monster” wraps up.

Jeon debuted as a singer in 2002 and went on to pursue acting. Depsite her participation in numerous dramas, she only recently shot to fame through “Oh Hae-young Again” (2016).

Lee also started off as a singer with the K-pop group Mblaq in 2009, but later left to become an actor. Past projects have included the film “The Piper” (2015) and drama “Vampire Detective,” which aired in the early part of this year.
