Kang Susie, Kim Gook-jin officially a ‘thing’
Singer Kang Susie, 49, and entertainer Kim Gook-jin, 51, are officially dating.Kim’s agency acknowledged on Thursday that the two stars are an item, but added that it’s too soon for the couple to think about marriage.
“We are not sure whether they started seeing each other to get married. Also, it has not yet been confirmed whether they saw each other’s family,” the agency said.
The news was no surprise to many, as the couple have recently been showing special affection towards each other on the SBS reality program “Burning Youth,” which features middle-aged stars getting to know each other by traveling to various places.
Many of their fans and fellow celebrities have been showing support for their relationship.
Singer-songwriter Yoon Jong-shin, for example, posted a short congratulatory message on his personal Instagram on Thursday. Yoon is currently co-hosting MBC’s reality show “Radio Star.”
Since Kim is widely known for maintaining his privacy, many are suspecting that the public announcement of their relationship means marriage will soon follow.
The pair have known each other for decades.
Kang debuted in 1990 and rose to fame with her first album, “Violet Fragrance.” Kim stepped onto the scene in 1991 as a comedian and gained popularity in the late ’90s by starring in numerous reality shows.
Kang married in 2001, but divorced in 2006. Kim also married in 2002, but split after a year and a half.
