For the farmer who collapsed after police struck him with water from a water cannon, his cause of death was marked as “ disease,” and not “ exogenous.”

And after the chairman of the special committee formed by Seoul National University Hospital to investigate the controversy, looked into the death certificate, he said,

“I would have written down ‘exogenous,’”
그러나 주치의는 생각을 바꾸지 않았고 주치의의 진정성을 인정해서 병사라는 결론을 바꾸지는 않겠다고 특조위는 얘길 했지요.
But the farmer’s doctor didn’t change his mind, and the special committee acknowledged the doctor’s integrity and left it as “death from disease.”

The committee’s announcement makes it seem like people are excessively suspicious for thinking that those involved are seeking rabbit horns and turtle fur.

그리고 여기… 논란이 벌어진 지 열흘 만에 돈을 낸 대기업도, 재단 관계자도 모르는 사이에 전격 해산과 통합이 결정된 그 재단들이 있습니다.
And here are two foundations that abruptly decided to dismantle only 10 days after their scandals stirred the public. What’s more is that the decision to dismantle the foundations was first made before the conglomerates, which had contributed funds to the foundations, and even those affiliated with the foundations, were made aware of the decision..

Some assert that the money was collected to be used for good deeds, even bringing up the Sewol ferry tragedy. But the revealed testimonies, forged seals with typos, and documents all tell different stories.

Hence suspicions grow, and the irony only deepens.

나온 해명들이 토끼의 귀 사이에서 뿔을 찾고 거북의 등에서 털을 찾는 것과도 같아서 사람들은 차라리 그것이 일고의 가치도 없는 의혹들임을 해명에 앞서 믿고 싶을 만큼 지쳐있는지도 모르겠습니다.
Their explanations seem to be seeking horns from rabbits and fur from turtles. Maybe that’s why many people end up believing these kinds of explanations are too absurd to take seriously.
그러고 보니 오늘은 10월 3일, 개천절 연휴의 마지막 날.
