Some 700 people from 40 countries attend a Global Saemaul Leadership Forum that kicked off on Tuesday and will last until Thursday at the Alpensia Convention Center in Pyeongchang, Gangwon. Participants will share Saemaul project experiences and network with other Saemaul leaders. The Saemaul movement was initiated by former President Park Chung Hee, father of incumbent President Park Geun-hye, to modernize rural villages during the 1970s. [JOINT PRESS CORPS]
