Hanwha E&C conducts safety event at work site

Hanwha Engineering & Construction held its “Safe and Healthy Management Day” event for its employees on Friday to raise awareness of safety and accident prevention in the workplace.

The event took place at an apartment construction site being overseen by Hanwha E&C in Suwon, Gyeonggi.

Hanwha E&C’s chief executive, Choi Kwang-ho, and some 30 managers from contractors participated in the event.

Choi inspected the work site and offered words of encouragement to employees while emphasizing the need for active communication among workers.

The company has been regularly holding its workplace safety awareness event in different locations. Choi recently visited the construction site of the Hwaseong Bio Valley factory in Gyeonggi, another project being overseen by Hanwha E&C, to discuss issues with partner companies and their labor unions.

The company said it would continue to hold the event in the future to “secure an advanced level of safety in construction sites and lead the way in management that focuses on safety and health.”

“We will form an organic collaboration between our partners and field workers to bring about a safety system where no accidents occur,” Choi said.
