SNL Korea issues second apology

“SNL Korea” producers issued their second apology regarding recent accusations of sexual harassment.

Although cast member Lee Se-young had been particularly criticized among the female staff that were accused of inappropriately touching male idol group members of B1A4, Infinite, and Block B in recent video evidence discovered online, the producers said it was not entirely her fault alone.

In the online message uploaded to their official website and Facebook page on Monday night, they apologized once again to viewers and fans of B1A4, while explaining that this particular “tradition” had been in place since the first season of the show in order to help the guest hosts loosen up and encourage team spirit.

They went on to explain that it was the fault of the staff for not being able to recognize their problematic behavior, and for also allowing the video clip to circulate on Facebook.

Additionally, shortly before the producer’s apology was uploaded, Lee herself posted her own short apology on her Instagram, saying she apologized to all individuals, and would “reflect on [her] actions to make sure this would never happen again.”

Meanwhile, B1A4’s agency WM Entertainment said in an official statement on Tuesday that they had “received sufficient apology” from SNL and Lee.
