Wanna One’s latest tops the charts
Project boy band Wanna One took the lead in seven music streaming charts with its latest song, “I.P.U.,” on Tuesday.Wanna One’s “I.P.U.,” released at 6 p.m. Monday, was ranked No. 1 on Melon, Genie, Bugs Music, Mnet, Soribada and Naver Music as of 8 a.m. Tuesday. iKON’s “Love Scenario,” which reigned over most charts for more than a month, stood at second place or lower on most charts.
“I.P.U.” was pre-released from Wanna One’s second EP album, “0+1=1 (I Promise You),” which will drop on March 19. Monday’s pre-release was planned to coincide with the 333rd day since the group made its first public appearance.
The new album is headed towards a smash hit status, with pre-orders having reached 700,000 as of Friday.
The band dropped its first album, “1X1=1 (To Be One),” in August in one of the biggest debuts of any K-pop act.
