Auto Design Award opens submissions for 2018

Gearheads, grab your pencils.

Submissions for the Auto Design Award 2018 are now open, and winners will have their work displayed at the Busan International Motor Show on June 7.

This year’s theme for the award is “Car, the Maximized Beauty,” according to its organizing committee. Submissions are open until May 10.

The Auto Design Award is a car design competition based in Korea that accepts car design submissions from all over the globe. Participants range from professional designers to elementary school students.

One of the biggest changes for this year is that the award will start accepting team submissions designed by up to four people.

The award’s categories are split into two age groups: U-10, which is for designers in high school or younger, and general, for those in college or older.

The organizing committee will hand out 31 prizes, with the total prize money totaling 10.8 million won ($10,190). The grand prize winner will be awarded 5 million won.

The competition is supervised by Dailycar, a Korean automotive news platform, and sponsored by the Busan city government, Busan International Motor Show and the Bexco convention center where the auto show will be held.

“The Auto Design Award, which has discovered designers with great potential in the past two years, is being recognized as a gateway to becoming a car designer,” said a member of the Auto Design Award organizing committee. “We hope to meet talented car designers of the future this year as well.”

Applicants can submit their car designs through the award’s official website, www.autodesignaward.com.
