Cooling operations

Workers from the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) spray water on railway tracks near Busan Station on Thursday afternoon to lower their temperature and prevent them from expanding. Temperatures in Busan reached 33 degrees Celsius (91.4 degrees Fahrenheit) on Thursday. Korail drops the speed of trains to less than 230 kilometers (143 miles) per hour when tracks are heated up to temperatures between 55 to 60 degrees Celsius; and to less than 70 kilometers per hour when tracks are between 60 to 64 degrees Celsius. It stops all operations of trains when the tracks are beyond 64 degrees Celsius. [YONHAP]
