New part-timer
A model makes a payment with only her hands using a robot equipped with artificial intelligence technology at a 7-Eleven store in Lotte World Tower in Songpa District, southern Seoul. Veny, the polar bear-shaped robot, is the first payment robot equipped with hand-pay technology, which allows consumers to pay for items by scanning their palms. Their money is automatically deducted from pre-registered cards. Veny is also capable of processing card payments, chatting with customers, recognizing frequent customers and offering them unique greetings and services. 7-Eleven is planning to gradually replace payment kiosks with Veny at other stores.
