Blackpink’s Jennie to release music

Girl group Blackpink’s agency YG Entertainment confirmed Thursday that group member Jennie will make her solo debut on Nov. 12.

The agency released a teaser image for her upcoming track on its official blog, featuring Jennie wearing a red turtleneck, along with the release date.

On Oct. 18, the agency announced that all four members of the group will be releasing solo music, starting with Jennie and then Rose.

“One of the strengths of Blackpink is their strength as a group, but we also want to prove that each one of them has great skills,” the agency said back then.

Since Blackpink debuted in 2016 with the album “Square One,” they have released a string of hits including “Boombayah,” “Whistle” and “Ddu-du Ddu-du.”

The group has been on a roll recently, with the agency announcing on Tuesday that the group signed a contract with Interscope Records - a U.S. label under Universal Music - signaling a future for the group in the U.S.

On Wednesday, the agency also announced that three of their music videos on YouTube had surpassed 400 million views.
