Lee Seo-won enters the military

Actor Lee Seo-won, who is currently on trial following accusations of sexual assault and forced threats, enlisted in the Army on Tuesday, after several tries by his agency to postpone the enlistment.

“The actor received his notice of enlistment on Oct. 12, even though his fourth hearing at the Seoul Eastern District Court was scheduled for Nov. 22,” said his agency Blossom Entertainment on Thursday.

“We tried to postpone his enlistment, but according to the Military Manpower Administration, the attendance of trials does not fall under a reasonable excuse for postponing one’s military enlistment. Lee was therefore enlisted in the army on Tuesday.”

Meanwhile, his fourth hearing has been postponed to Jan. 10 of next year.

Lee has received fierce reactions from the public after he reportedly assaulted a celebrity in April, and then threatened her with a weapon after she tried to call her boyfriend for help. Lee has been on trial since May, when the police handed him over to the prosecutor’s office.
