Korea’s first Virtual Reality (VR) musical film “Anna, Marie,” starring singer Baek A-yeon, began filming last month and is set to be released early next year.
The film was one of the winners of the Korea Creative Content Agency’s “2018 VR Content Frontier Project,” a contest for creative VR technology content productions. The musical film, directed by the cinematic VR firm Company Soom, will utilize 3D, 360-degree video and immersive sound technology, and combine them with visual effects, music and dance.
It will feature the story of an idol singer named Anna, who is kicked out of her agency and meets the superstar humanoid singer Marie.
Baek, who debuted in 2012 following her appearance as a contestant on the first season of the SBS audition program “K-Pop Star,” is known for her hits “Shouldn’t Have…” (2015), “So-so” (2016) and “Sweet Lies” (2017).
