Cha Jun-hyuk under arrest againThe Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for singer-turned-actor Cha Ju-hyuk on charges of drug use and burglary on Thursday - only two weeks after he was released from prison for driving drunk and consuming drugs back in 2016.
On Tuesday, several neighbors reported that Cha was kicking other people’s doors at an apartment complex in Seocho District, southern Seoul, and making a loud noise at around 4 a.m.
Cha was additionally charged with contempt when he threw insults and slanderous comments at the police when they were trying to arrest him after the complaints.
During the police investigation that followed, Cha admitted that he had consumed drugs and tested positive in a drug test.
The court issued an arrest warrant for Cha on Thursday for violating the Narcotics Control Act. Cha is likely to face another prison sentence for committing a second offense so soon after getting released from prison.
Cha, a former member of the K-pop group Coed School, served a year and a half in prison until Dec. 14 after he hit three pedestrians while driving drunk in 2016.
