Super Junior wins award in Peru

Boy band Super Junior received the Best Concert of the Year award at the Premios Luces 2018 in Peru, their agency SJ Label said Friday.

Super Junior, which performed in Peru April 22 as a part of its world tour series “Super Junior World Tour Super Show 7,” was awarded for its excellent concert, beating out Katy Perry, Radiohead and Daddy Yankee.

The awards ceremony is hosted by Peru’s oldest newspaper El Comercio, which was founded in 1839.

The band’s “Super Show” series began in February 2008, and has traveled to over 20 cities in Asia, Europe, North America and South America.

“‘Super Show’ has been recognized as a well-made concert brand, having attracted over 2 million people in total,” said the agency.

Super Junior will be holding a special version of the show on March 2 and 3, at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, southern Seoul.
