Super Junior to release 9th album

Veteran boy band Super Junior will release its ninth full-length album in the later half of this year, but with just nine members instead of the full 11, Label SJ said on Monday.

“We have decided, after talking with all the members, that nine members - Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Siwon, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun - will be taking part with the ninth album,” the agency said.

Members Kangin and Sungmin, who are both still part of the team, will be “coming back with individual performances in the future.”

This will be the band’s first full-length album in a year and a half since its eighth album, “Play,” was released in November 2017, and will also be the first album since all of the members finished their military duties.

Kangin was the first to begin his mandatory two-year service in 2010, followed by Heechul in 2011, Leeteuk in 2012 and Yesung in 2013.

Kyuhyun, the youngest of the group, was the last of the members and was recently discharged in May.

“We are in talks as to when the exact comeback date will be, but we ask for the love and support as this will be a long-awaited full-length album where all of the members have finished their military duties,” said Label SJ.
