TV Chosun drama series “Joseon Survival,” which starred actor Kang Ji-hwan, will end earlier than scheduled, the channel announced on Wednesday.
The series underwent chaos when Kang was arrested for sexually assaulting and molesting two employees from his company last Tuesday. The actor immediately dropped out of the show.
Although the role was taken over by actor Seo Ji-suk, the channel announced that the series will be reduced to 16 episodes from the original 20. The drama’s production company and Kang’s former agency, Huayi Brothers Korea, had earlier denied rumors that the series was cutting episodes.
“The 11th episode will air on July 27,” the company announced on Tuesday. “We’re planning to start filming again as soon as possible with our new actor.”
Kang had admitted to all of his charges as of Monday.
