Ryoo Seung-bum skips press event

Actor Ryoo Seung-bum was absent at a press conference for “Tazza: One Eyed Jack” on Thursday, because he was “out of touch,” according to film organizers.

“Ryoo is living overseas so he won’t be attending the press conference for the film,” one of the organizers said. “We’re still discussing with the actor whether he can make it for press screenings and interviews.”

The actor moved to France in 2012. It was later reported that the actor has been bouncing around overseas, moving from one country to another for years. Without an agency or a phone, he usually communicates with film distribution company Lotte Entertainment via email.

In the film, Ryoo plays an infamous one-eyed gambler “Aeggu” who gathers the top gamblers around the country to form a team called “One Eyed Jack” in order to win a prize of 5 billion won ($4.1 million).
