Kangnam to become Korean citizen

Singer Kangnam is preparing to be naturalized as a Korean citizen, giving up his Japanese nationality in return, according to his agency Dmost Entertainment on Monday.

“Kangnam recently made the decision to officially become a Korean citizen and is planning on submitting the necessary files this month,” a representative from the agency said. “We believe that it will take about a year for the application to pass.”

Kangnam was born to a Korean mother and a Japanese father. The singer said that he has discussed his decision with his family as well.

The singer debuted as a member of the boy band M.I.B. in 2011 and rose to stardom for his honesty and humor in appearances on numerous television variety shows such as JTBC’s “Off to School” and MBC’s “I Live Alone.” After his group disbanded in 2017, he continued to appear on television and started performing solo as a trot singer.

The singer is also in a relationship with Olympic gold medalist speed skater Lee Sang-hwa. The two met last year while filming the SBS entertainment show “Law of the Jungle in Last Indian Ocean.”

Han Ji-eun and Hanhae are dating Rapper Hanhae and actor Han Ji-eun are a couple, the actor’s agency HB Entertainment confirmed on Monday.

“It is true that Han has been dating [Hanhae] for about eight months,” the agency said.

The actor has appeared in films such as “Miss Granny” (2014), “The Royal Tailor” (2014) and “Train to Busan” (2016) and on television drama series such as tvN’s “Entourage” and KBS’ “The Child was Five” in 2016. She is currently starring in the JTBC series “Be Melodramatic.” She plays Hwang Han-ju, a divorced producer working at a drama production company.

The rapper, who appeared on the fourth season of Mnet’s hip-hop audition program “Show Me the Money,” has been serving his mandatory military service since February 2018.
