Bi-soft fillers [CHONG KUN DANG]

Chong Kun Dang has released new fillers that can be injected in different parts of the body as the company works to fill out its cosmetic lineup and lift its earnings.

The pharmaceutical company announced in a statement Wednesday that its new “Bi-soft” injectable filler uses hyaluronic acid, which stimulates collagen growth within the skin to remove wrinkles and promote faster skin growth.

The substance has proven to be safe as it naturally decomposes within the body after a certain period, Chong Kun Dang said.

Four types of Bi-soft are offered depending on the target of area. The S version is used for light wrinkles around eyes and lips, while the M and L versions are for removing deep wrinkles around the marionette lines. The XL type is used on larger areas on the face including the cheeks.

“Bi-soft has a more varied use as it comes in four types, and the product is easy and precise enough to satisfy medical professionals and patients together,” a Chong Kun Dang spokesperson said. “By launching Bi-soft and bolstering our filler product lineup, we plan to strengthen our business expertise.”

Launching Bi-soft is the latest of Chong Kun Dang’s efforts into boost its cosmetics medicine lineup and expand its scope of business. The company has been selling filler products like wrinkle treatment Stylage, Hyal Dew and SkinPlus-HYAL, along with a range of breast implant products.

Chong Kun Dang posted 19 billion won in operating profit in the second quarter, up 2.2 percent from the same period a year earlier. Its sales added 12.3 percent on-year to 266.3 billion won, but its net profit shrank 0.4 percent to 12.7 billion won.

The Korean pharmaceutical company recently completed a drug manufacturing facility in Indonesia with the capacity to produce up to 1.6 million vials of anti-cancer drugs.
