SK Biopharmaceuticals appoints three new independent directorsSK Biopharmaceuticals appointed three new independent board members in a meeting held Tuesday.
The three independent directors appointed are Professor Bang Yung-Jue of Seoul National University Hospital, Dr. Ahn Hae-Young, a former deputy division director at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Professor Song Min-Sup of Sogang University’s department of business administration.
Bang served on the board of directors at the Korean Cancer Association and was the chairman of the Korean Cancer Study.
The first Korean deputy division director at the FDA, Ahn was appointed for her experience as a reviewer of clinical trials and a regulatory decision-maker at the U.S. office.
Song is expected to serve an important role as an independent director to improve the company’s financial soundness.
In Tuesday’s extraordinary meeting of shareholders, SK established an audit committee consisting of the same three independent directors to strengthen the independence of audit activities and enhance management transparency.
