Twice adds more Japan tour dates

Twice has added three more concerts in Japan as part of their world tour, JYP Entertainment announced Wednesday.

The girl group kicked off the “Twice World Tour 2019 ‘TWICELIGHTS’” on May 25 in Korea and wrapped up the first leg of the tour in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Aug. 17.

On Oct. 23, the group will begin the second leg of their world tour in Hokkaido, Japan. Previously, the girl group had announced 12 concerts across seven cities in Japan but decided to add three more concerts in Chiba, Fukuoka and Shizuoka in response to strong demand.

With three out of nine members being Japanese, Twice is a beloved girl group in Japan. All eight of its Japanese releases have been certified platinum, and Twice is the first K-pop girl group to go on a multi-city dome tour in Japan. Their upcoming Japanese album “&TWICE” is due for this November.

On Monday, Twice released its eighth EP “Feel Special” in Korea.

The track ranked No. 9 on Melon and No. 1 on Japan’s Line music chart as of Wednesday.
