Hyundai E&C and KT team up on 5G at work sitesKT signed deal with Hyundai Engineering and Construction (Hyundai E&C) on Tuesday to cooperate in establishing 5G networks at construction sites.
Hyundai E&C is the first construction company to adopt KT’s 5G network for enterprises, the carrier said.
The mobile carrier will test 5G-based construction solutions at two local sites operated by Hyundai E&C within year.
With the high-speed 5G network, the companies plan to develop self-driving robots that are capable of approaching sites that are dangerous for humans. The carrier said the network can also aid workers to quickly transfer large amounts of data related to construction sites, including 3-D surveying data.
