KBS to tell story of foreign helper

Today’s episode of “Docu World” on KBS will shed light on a hidden helper of the Korean independence movement, a missionary named Samuel Austin Moffett, to commemorate the upcoming March 1st Independence Movement.

Through records found at Princeton Theological Seminary, memoirs of the Japanese officials during the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945) and local historical records, it was found that Moffett was one of the first to initiate the March 1st Movement and persistently helped independence activists throughout his life.

Besides sharing discoveries about Moffett’s biography, the episode will also share other interesting facts about the March 1st Movement that weren’t widely known before.

The episode is to air at 10:50 p.m. today.
