Singers team up to encourage the country with ‘Superstar’

A team of 18 singers have released a new version of “Superstar” in hopes of encouraging the country as it works to fight off the Covid-19 outbreak, singer Lee Han-chul of the team said on Monday.

“Superstar” was first recorded in 2005 by Lee and was a hit for its energizing melody and lyrics. On the new version, 18 singers came together to sing each verse.

According to Lee, each singer recorded their part of the song and music video at their separate studios, and the song was put together as a way of encouraging people to practice social distancing in their daily lives.

The singers featured on the song are: Coffeeboy, Seen Hyun-hee, Lee Han-chul, Joa Band, J Hyesun, Park Yoon-shik of Crying Nut, MC Meta, Thomas Cook, Lee Sang-mi, Hey Men, Seo Chang-seok of Bulldog Mansion, Lee Eun-sang, Corner Store of the Soul, Shin Dong-hoon and Park Sung-ryong.

“I was inspired by people who are uniting however they can despite the coronavirus outbreak. I wanted to share that energy,” said Lee Han-chul.
