Hyundai Merchant Marine changes name to HMMHyundai Merchant Marine has changed its name to HMM.
It held a ceremony to celebrate the change on Wednesday at its headquarters in central Seoul.
On the same day, HMM’s partnership with THE Alliance, a global shipping network, became effective. The network links 78 ports worldwide, including ports in India, Europe and the Middle East.
HMM is offering services on 27 routes run by THE Alliance.
The partnership will last 10 years.
The company said that it changed its name for a fresh start and because it makes no sense to keep the Hyundai name a decade after separating from the Hyundai Group.
