Blackpink’s ‘Kill This Love’ reaches 300 million streams on Spotify

Girl group Blackpink’s “Kill This Love” (2019) has been streamed over 300 million times on Spotify, a first for a K-pop girl group.

According to the band’s agency YG Entertainment, the song hit the 300 million mark on Wednesday, a year after it was released.

Member Jennie holds the record of being the first solo female K-pop singer to have her track “Solo” (2018) surpass 200 million streams on Spotify, but these are not the only feats achieved by Blackpink on this particular music service.

Blackpink has the highest number of followers on Spotify - 11 million - for any girl group in the world.

And according to a wrap-up of K-pop groups in 2019, Blackpink’s tracks were streamed in 79 regions over 1.1 billion times, the highest for K-pop girl groups.

“Blackpink is currently putting the final touches on its new album,” YG Entertainment said its statement announcing the feat.
