Lim Seul-ong's agency issues statement on fatal accident
Lim Seul-ong's agency issued a statement Tuesday regarding a car accident in which the singer-actor hit a pedestrian, who later died.
"We hope the victim can rest in peace, and we send our condolences to the family of the deceased," Jellyfish Entertainment wrote. "While Lim was driving, there was a collision with a pedestrian walking across the street, and although Lim called the hospital right away, sadly the victim died while he was being transported.
"Lim followed the proper legal procedures and was questioned by the police accordingly," the agency continued. "He was released, but he's still in the state of a severe shock. As the official police report has not been released yet, we hope you can understand that we can't reveal any more details."
The agency repeatedly apologized to the victim's family.
Earlier on Tuesday, local media reported that the singer was questioned by police after Lim's SUV slipped on a wet road and hit a person who was jaywalking at around 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 1. The victim was a man in his fifties, according to the reports.
According to Seobu police in Eunpyeong District, northern Seoul, Lim was not driving while intoxicated at the time of the accident.
