Kim Jang-hoon to hold concert from Dokdo

Singer Kim Jang-hoon will host an online concert on Oct. 25 to commemorate Dokdo Day — from Dokdo itself.

According to his agency FX Solution, Kim will hold a concert onboard a ship while cruising around the island. It will be streamed online live.

Due to heavy storms this year, the island’s seawall was destroyed and people are prohibited from landing on the island for safety reasons. So Kim will cruise around the island to show the audience the beautiful views with assistance from Ulleung County, North Gyeongsang.

Kim plans to go to Ulleung Island on Oct. 24 to rehearse. In case of severe weather conditions, Kim is said to have cleared his schedule until Oct. 27.

“In the difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic, I hope everybody can become one through Dokdo Island and this event,” Kim said through his agency.
