LG Energy Solution pursues sustainable growth
LG Energy Solution, a leading battery company in Korea, is pursuing a path to a sustainable growth through various contributions aimed at bettering the environment and society.
Last year, LG Energy Solution constructed Power Plant for Hope Green in Cheongju, North Chungcheong, a solar power plant with total capacity of 410kw. Approximately 4,900 tons of greenhouse gas emissions are expected to be cut over the next 20 years and the estimated profit of 800 million won ($730,000) will be donated to the underprivileged.
LG Energy Solution also prioritizes children in need. The Twin Angel Fund, raised by voluntary donations from the employees of the Ochang Plant over the last 16 years, has been supporting children in low-income families living in Cheongju through ChildFund Korea. As of now, there has been 122 beneficiaries and the total donation amounts to 300 million won.
LG Energy Solution offers not only financial support to young people in need, but also emotional support through various activities such as cultural performance viewing events and visits to the plant, in a bid to inspire children to nurture their dreams for the future.
LG Energy Solution has also been taking strides forward, hand-in-hand with its business partners since 2019.
LG Energy Solution funded 150 billion won of financial support for small and mid-sized enterprises last year, while actively supporting its suppliers in regards to quality control, manufacturing process, productivity and digital innovation and energy-saving measures.
“LG Energy Solution plans to continue its contributions for a sustainablesociety,” said Sung Hwan-doo, senior vice president and corporate affairs group leader from LG Energy Solution. “We will take corporate social responsibilities one step further to build a foundation where corporations and society can move forward shoulder-to-shoulder.”
