As competition heats up in the global tire industry, tire makers are striving to step up their game with their original equipment (OE) tires.

OE tires are the tires that a vehicle is equipped with when it rolls off the production line.

Tires need to be safer, quieter, more efficient and armed with a better grounding force and brake performance. Considering the rising importance of eco-friendly vehicles, low rolling resistance is also a must for fuel-efficiency and gas emission reduction.

Hankook Tire & Technology raises the bar with its innovative technology and aggressive investments in research and development (R&D). Developing and securing its original technologies, Hankook is taking a leap toward as a global top-tier tire maker.

Hankook Technodome, the R&D center of Hankook Tire, plays a pivotal role in the company’s technological leadership.

Gathering momentum from its industry-leading product quality, Hankook formed a strategic partnership with a number of luxury automakers around the globe including Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW and Audi. As of now, the tire manufacturing company provides OE tires for more than 320 models from 46 automakers.

For instance, Hankook has been supplying OE tires for Porsche’s first all-electric Taycan. The premium SUV Cayenne and Macan are equipped with Hankook tires as well.

Audi, the German premium automaker, also uses tires from Hankook for its high-end RS7 Sportback sedan and other models such as RS6 Avant wagon, RS4 Avant, RS5 Coupé, TT RS and its flagship SUVs, Q8 and New Audi SQ8 TDI.

Other luxury German models using Hankook tires include Mercedes-Benz’ premium SUVs GLC and GLC Coupé and BMW’s flagship sedan New 7 Series, motorsport car M4 GT4 and MINI JCW GP3.

Hankook Tire also provides Italian automaker Fiat with eco-friendly tires and supplies off-road tires for the Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty and GMC Sierra Heavy Duty of General Motors.

Recognized for its technological prowess, Hankook plans to further expand its OE tire portfolio and to build a partnership with premium automobile manufacturers across the globe.
