The Marvel movie “Eternals” topped the box office on its opening day Wednesday.

According to the Korean Film Council’s Korea Box Office Information System, “Eternals” sold 296,042 tickets Wednesday.

Marvel films released earlier this year, like “Black Widow” and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” sold fewer tickets on their opening days: 196,233 for “Black Widow” and 203,254 for “Venom: Let There Be Carnage.”

“Eternals” is the second film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after “Black Widow.” It is about an immortal alien race called the Eternals who return from thousands of years in hiding to save Earth from villains.
