Political drama “Kingmaker,” starring actors Seol Kyung-gu and Lee Sun-kyun, is set to premiere on Jan. 26, its distributor Megabox Plus M said Tuesday.

The movie was originally set to premiere in December but the date had to be postponed due to stricter Covid-19 social distancing measures.

“Kingmaker” is about politician Kim Woon-beom, played by Seol, who meets election strategist Seo Chang-dae, played by Lee. The pair work together to win an upcoming presidential election but get tangled up in a mess when Chang-dae becomes a suspect after a bomb is found in Woon-beom’s house.

“Kingmaker” was directed by Byun Sung-hyun, known for previous films such as crime action “The Merciless” (2017) and rom-com “My PS Partner” (2012).
