Singer Hyolyn tested positive for Covid-19, according to JG Entertainment Wednesday.

“Hyolyn tested positive for the Covid-19 virus on Wednesday afternoon and is currently adhering to the national health authorities’ directions to self-isolate,” said her agency in a statement.

After being notified that some celebrities and crew members of the music variety show “Double Trouble” tested positive for the virus on Monday, Hyolyn took a PCR test which came out positive.

Hyolyn learned the news that she was a close contact with people who had tested positive when she was in the waiting room of the KBS music talk show “You Heeyeol's Sketchbook.” She was set to appear on the show to promote her song “Layin' Low” which was released Jan. 12.

“Hyolyn was on the ‘Double Trouble’ set on Sunday after taking a PCR test which came back negative,” said her agency.

“She also underwent PCR testing before going to the set of ‘You Heeyeol’s Sketchbook’ on Monday which was also negative. Nonetheless, when she was notified that she had come in close contact with Covid-19 patients, Hyolyn canceled all her scheduled activities including her appearance on ‘You Heeyeol’s Sketchbook.’”

JG Entertainment added that Hyolyn is fully vaccinated.

Hyolyn is a regular panel member on the show “Double Trouble.”

Earlier today, boy band WEi member Kim Dong-hwan who was also on the set of “Double Trouble” this week, tested positive for the virus.

Hyolyn debuted in 2010 as a member of girl group Sistar. Sistar disbanded in 2017 and Hyolyn has been working as a solo artist since then.
