Zackdang of Zamface fame raises 4.5 billion won

Zackdang, operator of Zamface, announced Wednesday that it raised 4.5 billion won ($3.76 million) from Hi Investment Partners and Daesung Private Equity in January. The company's accumulated investment amounts to more than 11 billion won until now, according to Zackdang.
 
Launched in June 2019, Zamface is a beauty video platform where users can share makeup tips and access cosmetics-related videos. The total number of members has surpassed 1.8 million, and female users born between 1996 and 2010 account for 94 percent.
 
Zamface is known for an artificial intelligence-based time jump function, which enables users to jump to a specific section of a video. For example, if a user wants to see the tutorial for eye makeup, he or she can just jump to the eye section marked by the app without watching the whole tutorial. Personal color analysis service using augmented reality technology attracted over a million users since last September as well, Zackdang explained.
 
“Zamface offers users convenient functions centered on video content as well as social networking service targeting the younger generation,” said Noh Gyeong-wook, director of Hi Investment Partners, “and has a high potential to become the leading platform in Korea by expanding its business to e-commerce in the future.”
 
Daesung Private Equity said that it expects Zamface to gain global traction based on its ability to quickly identify consumer needs and come up with new services accordingly.
