Korea Investment & Securities an underwriter in Tropicana purchase

Korea Investment & Securities is taking part in a private equity firm's acquisition of Tropicana as one of its lead underwriters.

Last year, PAI agreed to buy 61 percent of the juice brand and some other properties from Harrison, New York's PepsiCo.

Korea Investment & Securities said on Monday it will help PAI Partners, a Paris-based private equity group, raise $4.4 billion for its acquisition. It will help raise debt financing.

Credit Suisse and Bank of America are other lead underwriters for the deal. Korea Investment & Securities is the only Korean company taking part in the deal, it said.

The Korean securities company said it is focusing on building networks in global financial markets and generating synergies among its offices abroad.
